Manuela Pecorari

If you asked me what do you do? I’d tell you that I move, I write, I read, I draw, I weave, I practice yoga, I walk and look. I cook and make it sacred ---
My work as a creative but also my purpose as a creature on Earth can be boiled down to the search for the secret third thing: something that is generated when two entities enter in conversation ---
What I am striving for is to make myself a bridge, a mediation point where 1 + 1 = 3 ---

About

Manuela Pecorari is an emerging multidisciplinary artist based in London. Her work focusses on the limitations of spoken language and the need to exist in the interstices between self and the universal, between time and memory. She employs different entry-points to explore these themes, and her current practice is process-based, with and emphasis on video- documenting, auto-biographical writing, and marks on paper with watercolour, pen or pastel.

With a fascination for the philosophy of Yoga, fairytales and folklore, Manuela is bringing her physical body in her work by exploring somatic practices, embodied movement, and time-based interactions with landscapes. She holds a BA in scenography and an MA in collaborative theatre-making, and the interest in spatiality has remained crucial in her investigation, even outside of canonical theatre space.
